While a bit of a chore the mesh is simple to relocate - indeed that is the beauty of it. This means you can continually move your chickens onto fresh pasture or wherever you want them to get to work turning the soil, eating weed seeds and fertilising. Once their work is complete you can move them along to exciting new ground, allowing the moved out of pasture to recover and thrive. Moving your chickens onto fresh ground regularly is a free and effective parasite control measure too.
Our netting is 106cm high and 50m long, and incorporates 11 horizontal electrified strands with strengthened top strand and non-electrified verticals and bottom strand.
Electrification of all strands is by a combined loom at each end, complete with simple clips for attachment to any electrified fence wire or use with a standalone energiser.
Each 50m long fence incorporates 15 plastic posts with steel dual tip tread in prongs.
Fence lengths can easily be connected for longer runs.
We have not lost a bird to predators since we installed electric mesh at our place. You may need to clip your birds wings to prevent them flying over the top but we have found most of our birds are quite happy to stay within the netting, especially when regularly moved.
